Skywatch Friday - calm grey skies

Calm grey skies are all that we have at the moment.  It's like living under a blanket of felt.  So to liven them up a bit here are some variegated chimney pots, plus a few pigeons.  How many of the latter can you spot?  For those more interested in the sea, the patch of water is the Firth of Forth, as it widens out along the East Lothian coast.

My workplace has a huge variety of buildings, some of which I'm still discovering even after 25 years.   I was at a meeting the other week in a room up in the eaves of a building which fronts onto the Royal Mile.  These shots were taken looking east, down the slope of the Mile.

Other skies from around the world are at Skywatch Friday.

  7. I do not care id it is foggy, dreary, rainy, or bright and sunny. I will take Scotland anyway I can get it. I love it. And my husband loves his many memories of running on Arthur’s Seat. I like your post so much.genie

  9. Dreary turned interesting by the chimney and birds. My mother-in-law was born and raised in Paisley Scotland.

  13. Everything looks so calm and peaceful there. I loved looking at the roof lines, so many different kinds. I only spotted one big fat pigeon, but there must have been more.

Everything looks so majectic and old. I never tire of looking at your wonderful pics of places and things in Scotland.

  14. Hi there - I can see why you wanted to see some clear skies.

Also enjoyed your other recent posts. Saw you read "When the lights Went out" - you may also like "No such thing as Society - A history of the 1980s" Andy McSmith. I live through the period covered in both of these books - but they still taught me a lot! (You can find my review of the McSmith book on Amazon - in the 5 star section)

  15. Wonderful photos and views! You always make the most of what others would consider to be unpromising weather conditions.
