Gentle alternative
And a gentle easing back into blogging for me. I did consider a huge, attention-grabbing post, but I haven't been doing huge, attention-grabbing things, so here is life as it has been in Scotland this summer.
Some might say that 'the' T in the Park is the rock festival with international names and epic mud and all the standard, repeated across the country rock festival ingredients. I prefer the sound of the Glenlivet version. We didn't manage to get there, sadly, but we hope to make it for the 10th annual event. There's still just time to catch it, if you happen to be in the area this weekend.
That sounds just about right to me, besides, festivals are always too wet now. Nice to see you back!
ReplyDeleteDo you think the organisers choose to hold their festivals during wet weather for that extra bit of fun?
DeleteOh that sounds ideal! I've been to the Glenlivet distillery a few times and it is such a beautiful area. What do you suppose the "Bottle Race" entails? My imagination is racing!
ReplyDeleteI did wonder? I was thinking plastic bottles in the River Livet. Glass ones don't sound a good idea.
Deletehaha love the 'Tea in the Park' thing - that's much more to my liking than rolling around in the mud - and you can't beat a good cuppa tea!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd choose tea over whisky every time, Sharon!
DeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI would love to watch a spinning demonstration, I think that would be so interesting. I used to knit years ago but haven't done any knitting for so long I wonder if I could maneuver the needles. HAH
I have on occasion tasted Glenfiddich whiskey and was told it was the best! :)
Have a wonderful weekend.
Kristie, I used to work at Glenfiddich distillery - great fun. Every distillery thinks its whisky is the best!
DeleteSummer seems to zoom by the older I get!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Slower summer months would be just perfect.
DeleteWait, "tea in the park"?? At Glenlivet hall? I demand they immediately change it to "WHISKEY IN THE PARK".
ReplyDeleteI daresay there would have been a bit of that too...
DeleteA nosing and a tasting sounds fun. Welcome back. I know life can get too busy.
ReplyDeleteI think you speak from experience, Larry. You always have so many projects on the go.
DeleteWelcome back! I could get into the whiskey tasting that's advertised....
ReplyDeleteWhisky is a bit like wine - so many different tastes.
DeleteSounds lovely. Tea in the afternoon and a dram a bit later. And spinning! Is this 'the spin yarn' sort of spinning or the 'pedaling very hard on a stationary bike' sort of spinning? I hope the former! Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteIt must be the former, Buck. I can't imagine the latter being popular in Glenlivet.
DeleteGlad to have you back! I wish my Summer had been as quiet as I hoped it would be lol
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you've had a hectic time. Perhaps September will be a bit calmer.
DeleteEven though I like Tennents, I agree with you concerning the festivals.
ReplyDeleteNo festival fans here, Sven. Are we old/boring/sensible...?
DeleteI don't like huge crowds
DeleteKnitting competition ! never heard of that before ;)
