Skywatch Friday - cloud on the Convals
I know, I know, that burning sun at the top right is BAD composition. But it was cold, so much colder than it usually is in Scotland in the winter, and fingers were frozen. I think they may have been my husband's, since I had my gloved hands firmly in my pockets and had given up on photos by this stage in our walk.
Catching up from December for this Skywatch. River Spey, and the Conval Hills. The water used to make Glenfiddich whisky rises from a spring in the Convals. Icy water, fiery spirit. Tho I think when we got back from our walk we had a nice cup of tea.
Other skies around the world are at Skywatch Friday.
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your lovely comment! It is much appreciated. And I don't mind the sun in the top corner. I think it adds to the whole effect. It's a lovely photo. I especially like the low-lying clouds in the mountains. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. It captures the cold!
ReplyDeleteGreat scnery, Linda. That burning sun has a beautiful reflection in the water.
ReplyDeleteIt's right what you say in the comment: the living descendant Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia was born in Geneva in 1972 from Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia e Marina Doria.
Happy weekend!
I love the fog rolling over and around the hills. The water looks cold - and the sunlight accentuates it all.

Beautiful - worth a walk on a very cold day. Beats ground level fog!

It is a beautiful picture, and it does look COLD! You could crop out the sun, right below it, horizontally. You'd keep the reflection of the sun on the water, which is quite lovely, but get rid of the glare caused by the bright sun. Just a suggestion ....
ReplyDeleteVery icy looking Linda - makes me want to put my gloves on. Wonderful cloud shot. Hope things are going well. xx
ReplyDeleteI like your picture. The mountains are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and appreciate your kind comment. Makes me happy:))
Have a nice weekend
A little sun spot isn't too bad. I love the way the low clouds are just above the trees. Many years ago I would visit Dunoon, Argyll on a US submarine. I have been there in the winter and know how your fingers could be cold. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I love the photo. Its splendid and I like the sun in the corner.
ReplyDeleteIt's colder than normal here in my part of the world too.
Absolutely gorgeous! I love the sunshining in the corner.... What an amazing view... as you know i long to see Scotland and so enjoy your photos... For now I live vicariously through photos! keep 'em coming!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have been so cold that I drink tea between the times that I have coffee. It is an amazing visual of a wonderful landscape. It is all new to me as I learn of you wonderful land.
ReplyDeleteI love your cold watery picture. I don't think the sun in the top corner spoils it at all.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I think it is a beautiful photo! I like the gradation from right to left. Luv it!
ReplyDeletedon't believe everything you hear from stock photographers. I love the burning sun & it's related reflection on the water. (actually, all I noticed was the blue sky, the mountains, the spilling clouds, and the see). Wonderful capture - really!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos girl...
ReplyDeleteThis is an absolutely fabulous photo!!! Burning sun and all...it actually makes the photo more interesting...the contrast of the sun, the reflection, the dark water on the left and the misty cloud around the mountain...I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I read your comment on my blog: it's so funny! He really looks like somebody jealous looking at his girlfriend dancing with an other guy :)
That IS very impressive, a beauty! I cannot spot any bad composition at all :) Lovely contrast of shadows and glistening light.
ReplyDelete(Thank you for your interesting comment: answered to your questions on my blog)
