Field of Remembrance

The Poppyscotland Field of Remembrance in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens.

Below, a reminder that conflict is tragically ongoing since the World Wars.

  1. Oh my gosh, Linda. Too many. Too much.

Your photo essay is perfection: from one to many.

  2. I always get a lump in my throat when I see pictures like these. My grandfather fought in WWI and my father fought in WWII.

..."We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields."

    Such a beautiful poem...

  3. Wow, sobering.... Nice photos though.

  4. Given that Spain we doesn´t celebrate this day, I find it interesting to see the posts in which you reflect it.

  5. We celebrate Veterans Day in the US today. It is a sobering day and a day of remembrance for all of those soldiers who gave up their lives to keep us safe. :)
What a beautiful remembrance to mark this day.

  6. It is important to remember those who gave their lives in war - in America, our Memorial Day is at the end of May. Now if we could only figure out how to live without war...
