Dolphin watching
Camping at Rosemarkie, on the Black Isle, my husband and daughter noticed a twilight gathering on the shore at Chanonry Point. Curiosity of course got the better of them.
Fins in the boiling water of the tide race.
Dolphins, leaping and twisting.
Parent and child quality time.
Edited to say that photo credits for these shots go to my daughter.
What a gorgeous and special occasion to see. I love the photos!
ReplyDeleteI just get so excited when I see dolphins in their habitat instead of at Sea World. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteI bet they were amazing to watch! I have yet to see one, but I am hoping to one day (hopefully in Scotland lol). You take really good photos! A good quality camera is next on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky were you to see the dolphins. We went there once but not a sausage. They are often along our bit of coast but not as close in as at the point.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been awesome to see in person!!
ReplyDeleteI shall go to bed now and dream of dolphins.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely photos.
The true wonders of nature happen all the time in occasional Scotland. You are really on a roll now.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you were !! I spent some times whatching dolphins in Spey bay (years ago)but unfortunatly i didn't see them ;)
ReplyDeleteFantastic pics. I've seen dolphins at Rosemarkie (great wee place to camp) and in the seas around Goa. But i've never managed to capture a jumper. Great effort.
ReplyDeleteCould you do me a picture of an otter please? I've spent many a fruitless hour looking for them in Scotland. Starting to believe they don't really exist.
What an exciting adventure and how fortunate you were able to capture it! Nice shots, especially the 'boiling' water.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! You've captured some lovely dolphin activity there.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to see them so near AND catch them in action. I have seen them but always a bit further away. A couple of boat trips from Buckie, although very enjoyable, drew a blank for dolphins.
ReplyDeleteMust head up to Chanonry Point sometime.
Oh you were so lucky! I'd love to go dolphin spotting up there :)
ReplyDeleteWhat great captures! I can never get my camera to cooperate in moments like these.
ReplyDeleteI love dolphins. We see them frequently in Florida, but I never tire of seeing them. They are amazing creatures and so highly intelligent.
