Dolphin watching

Camping at Rosemarkie, on the Black Isle, my husband and daughter noticed a twilight gathering on the shore at Chanonry Point. Curiosity of course got the better of them.

Fins in the boiling water of the tide race.

Dolphins, leaping and twisting.

Parent and child quality time.

Edited to say that photo credits for these shots go to my daughter.

  3. I bet they were amazing to watch! I have yet to see one, but I am hoping to one day (hopefully in Scotland lol). You take really good photos! A good quality camera is next on my wish list.

  4. How lucky were you to see the dolphins. We went there once but not a sausage. They are often along our bit of coast but not as close in as at the point.

  9. Fantastic pics. I've seen dolphins at Rosemarkie (great wee place to camp) and in the seas around Goa. But i've never managed to capture a jumper. Great effort.

Could you do me a picture of an otter please? I've spent many a fruitless hour looking for them in Scotland. Starting to believe they don't really exist.

  12. How lucky to see them so near AND catch them in action. I have seen them but always a bit further away. A couple of boat trips from Buckie, although very enjoyable, drew a blank for dolphins.

Must head up to Chanonry Point sometime.

  15. I love dolphins. We see them frequently in Florida, but I never tire of seeing them. They are amazing creatures and so highly intelligent.
