Love the huge sporran photo - got me giggling out loud! I now remember that you taught me what it was called. But, but --- what I WANT IS THE DRESS! It's gorgeous. I'd find an occasion to go occasionally Scottish.(Maybe with straps added for me - my shoulders are way too broad for a strapless).
LOL! It reminds me of the "monster" with the big sneakers on Looney Tunes! I love the window display, very festive. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
I didn't know what you were talking about until I saw the second picture. I think it would take a certain personality of strength to be a man who wore that on his kilt. It reminded my of a red puppet at first when I saw it. Interesting window shopping from afar.
I like the decorative cantle and belt that accompany the sporran. And if I were 20 years younger, I'd definitely consider wearing that gorgeous tartan gown!
How interesting. I really appreciate you giving me a set of eyes so I can see things like this in your beautiful country. I have learned about something new today.
This is my first visit to your site, thanks to Tash on Altadena Hiker's blog...and I love that dress!!! I would love to claim Scottish heritage for that dress!!! (I'm a Swiss, Latvian and Finnish American)...but my ex-husband had Scottish heritage and my current husband has Irish heritage...close enough???
I really had absolutely no idea what that was. I just stared at the picture thinking ... head dress. Then I scrolled down and all was made clear!
Do folks still wear the traditional outfits like that for dressy events? Living in the melting pot of the states, we have lost so much of the roots of our heritage. It is so sad!

The last comment was no good? Okay, that is just the kinda sporran I would like to wear if I would ever wear one.
ReplyDeleteFunny or as we say here "mauvais goût " :)
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to wear that dress on Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that the Sporran looked liked that Looney Tunes monster too....or a Muppet. Made me smile :)
