After days of Indian summer, a change in the weather announced itself this week in an eerily masked sun over the Cowgate, above, and the Royal Mile, below. The grand building with cupolas and flags is the Bank of Scotland headquarters. Edinburgh Castle peeks out behind the corporate magnificence.
A jumbled cloudscape, below, over Warriston playing fields.
One day of rain followed by a bit of a gale and now we're back to warm days. Bliss.
More skies around the world are at Skywatch Friday.
It's been such a wonderful spell - and I think we deserve it too! I did want to take a picture of a wonderful cumulo-nimbus outside the front door, but james was too nervous of the thunder. xx
ReplyDelete"... masked sun over the Cowgate." Ah, it sounds so very different from my life here. Lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteYour skies do look like a bit of a jumble sale.
ReplyDeletequite a brooding sky. glad it was only one day of rain and now back to warmer days. hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies. Enjoy the last days of summer while you can!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. I oddly like how hazy the sun looks. :)
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have such beautiful vistas all the time! The clouds were gorgeous. We went from 30C and humid to 18C and really windy so not too nice here right now.
ReplyDeleteGreat mix of shots, the cloudscape at the end is my favorite! I think we're done with our warm weather until next Spring in Montreal, although we can sometimes get an Indian Summer in October.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. Lovely shades in the sky over the beautiful building.
ReplyDeletereally nice shots..eerie but beautiful. have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was from Sherlock Holmes judging by that first photo. Neat photos or beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteWonderful impressions and clouds. Our indian summer is just beginning.... I wish you a nice weekend and send a hug from Luzia.
