    Oh wow..you're right that really is lurid. I wonder what the weather was like that day. A sunrise like that is often bad news...

    this is great - sort of modern Edgar Allen Poe-ish.
    thanks for the explanation on my ski lift photo - you verbalized it well.
    BTW - I read your "6 things" - a doctoral thesis on Proust - totally impressive; and one of my wishes is to got thru the Magellan Straight. Did you ever see the old BBC dramatization on Magellan - that's what got me started on it.

    I have never seen a sky described as lurid. Sounds like much of the weather in the UK these days can be described that day. Take Cover!!
